A lot has been spoken about the national dress of the Panamanians and it has been intended to point out its exact origin which is not related to the folklore of the country one of its characteristics is its spontaneity and anonymity. Many of the countries in Central America have there national dress related to XVI and XVII century Spanish styles. This is according to miss Nives de Hoyos Director of the townsfolk Spanish Museum. |

Because of its intricate cuts the “Pollera” is of incomparable malicious attraction and very feminine. This costume suits a women like no other. The costume has very important pieces such as the shirt and the “Polleron”. |

The
shirt is a very delicate piece which is assembled with intricate typical
designs like butterflies, fish or exotic animals of the area, the headpiece
is formed by many parts one of them is called tembleke which hands over
the head and sits on each side of the head, the other piece is called
